European Investment Bank Provides EUR30 Million to Support Companies

The EIB loan comes with grants worth EUR4 million within the EIB Economic Resilience Initiative.The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the UniCredit Bank Serbia signed a contract on June 24 to provide a EUR15m tranche of an innovative loan to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Serbia worth a total of EUR30 million.The EIB loan is intended for socially engaged SMEs and companies with a medium market capitalization value, willing to make a positive effect on the communities they operate in, with special focus on gender quality, youth employment and social inclusion, said a release.The EIB loan comes with grants worth EUR4 million within the EIB Economic Resilience Initiative.The funds will go to the companies accepting to support efforts to employ women and empower them to become entrepreneurs, employ young people and facilitate their professional development, and back up the social inclusion of vulnerable demographic groups (minorities, persons with disabilities, displaced persons), often facing additional obstacles in the labor market.
