U.S. DFC, Exim Bank Sign Letters of Intent to Finance Nis-Pristina Highway

The DFC and Exim Bank plan to send their delegations to Belgrade and Pristina by the end of the month to facilitate work on the Highway of Peace and other projects.The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) CEO Adam Boehler and director of the Export Import (EXIM) Bank Kimberly Reed signed letters of intent with Serbia and Kosovo to assist and finance the construction of a Highway of Peace between Nis and Pristina.The U.S. finance cooperation reported on Sept. 16 that the letters of intent were signed based on “the historic agreement on economic normalization that Serbia and Kosovo signed on Sept. 4 in Washington.” The DFC explained that those were non-binding documents, and that the two agencies would carry out standard verifications before officially accepting the commitments.The DFC and Exim Bank plan to send their delegations to Belgrade and Pristina by the end of the month to facilitate work on the Highway of Peace and other projects.
